Glass types
Thermal insulation glass (thermofloat) - a component of the triple-glazing system available in windows, has a significant impact on the thermal insulation properties of the window and aids in lowering the amount of heat loss from the space.
Sound-absorbing glass - a prerequisite for proper comfort and sometimes even for living in a room is to ensure low noise levels. The perception of noise in a room is governed by the following principle: if the noise level in a room is reduced by 10 dB compared with that outside, the impression is that it is half as loud. Noise protection must be used wherever the noise source cannot be eliminated. The glazing available attenuates noise to Rw=45dB.
Absorption glass (antisol) - float glass tinted blue, green, grey or brown in the mass, which gives it high solar control properties, reducing by up to 60% the amount of sunlight entering the room
Reflective glass (reflex, stopsol) - float glass tinted blue, green, grey or brown in the mass, coated with metal oxide on one of its surfaces (so-called reflective coating), which reduces the amount of sunlight entering a room by up to 80%
Safety glass - laminated glass, made up of two 3 mm thick float glass panes and one anti-burglary PVB film, provides protection to the user when the glass breaks, so that even if the glass breaks, the pieces do not scatter but are held on the film layer
Anti-burglary glass - laminated glass made of two 4 mm thick float glass panes and two (P2 glass) or four (P4 glass) PVB anti-burglary films, is recommended for houses particularly vulnerable to burglary. When attempting to break the glass, even if the glass breaks, its pieces are held on to the layers of film, making it difficult for the burglar to enter the room.
Ornamental glass - patterned float glass that forms a convex structure on one side, particularly suitable for rooms where there is a need to restrict the view from the outside (e.g. in bathrooms)
